I’m not sure if you knew this or not, but nearly every fitness professional I know has a Love-Hate relationship with New Year’s.
We love it because our personal training schedules are packed to the gills.
It’s the time of year we get to work with the most people, and yes…the money isn’t bad either.
That part’s fine.
However, there’s a very dark side to New Year’s Resolution time…
It’s a psychological piece you don’t hear many people talking about.
As fitness professionals, we’re familiar with the stats…
People make a decision to take control of their health and vow to:
Eat Better…
Go to the gym…
Break those nasty habits…
And then about 4-6 weeks later nearly every one of them is back to their old ways. In fact, some have fallen into worse patterns.
The percentage of people who can’t stick with it is staggering…Let’s just say the majority fail very quickly.
